As a Catholic school our faith permeates all areas of school life.Religious education in school is regarded the core of our teaching and learning. The teaching of religion is not confined to the R.E. lesson, RE pervades all the work of the curriculum, which is used to stimulate religious growth and development, as well as academic and social progress.
Parents have the prime responsibility for the religious formation of their child by sharing their own faith with them as they grow up in the home. The school assists you in your commitment to hand the faith on to your child. In particular your child will be prepared for the two Sacraments, which will fully initiate him/her into the faith: Reconciliation and Holy Communion. Our Parish Priest, Father David John, is a frequent visitor to the school. The children also regulary attend mass in church.
Catholic pupils will be prepared to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion during Year 3.The parish and the school will work with you in preparing your child for these sacraments.
The school uses “The Way, The Truth & The Life” alongside "Come and See" schemes of work to teach RE. We also teach RE using the 5W;s. Welcome, Word, Worship, Witness and Welfare.
